We’ve generated 10,200 purchases on the website and $350k+ in revenue/ launched more than 1000 ads / reached north of 4,8 М unique users / showed our ads 14,5 M times/ spent $162k+ on ads/ all this for 22 months
Problem:
The key problem of this client was the number of sales on the website, and so she came to us aiming to increase it. Before we started to work together, her only sources of traffic were her personal and professional Instagram profiles. But with the time, organic traffic was exhausted and sales dropped. What’s more, March of 2020 was the start of the pandemic and it affected not only the number of studio visitors but also the purchasing power on the website and on social media.
Solution:
-
Ads launch strategy:
We were running different tests for the first couple of months. The client gave us carte blanche because the online store was the only source of income for her during the global lockdown. We launched 48 ad campaigns with 139 ads for the first 3 months.
-
Additional tools:
Abandoned carts piled up with the time and we started working on getting users back to the website and making them purchase. This type of retargeting didn’t perform very well, but we found a solution. We used a Shopify add-on that helped us bring back the audience of $21,000 worth without any constant involvement on our end.
-
Work with audiences:
On this project, as well as on all the other projects of ours, we worked with LALs, interests and behaviour-based audiences, and retargeting audiences. After analyzing the first ad campaigns we had launched, we saw that LAL audience was the best-performing one but we weren’t within KPIs anyway. We started testing LALs based on variations of customer segments and settled on the audience of users who spend $49 or more on the website and also on those who made 2 or more purchases.
-
Creatives and products:
During testing, we tried all kinds of ad formats, from regular static creatives to canvasses and dynamic catalogues. Best-performing were the ones demonstrating the process of temporary tattoo application, also videos showing the end result, and videos with subtitles and triggers (e.g. “quality”, “safety”, “free shipping”, etc.). You may be surprised, but special offers and discounts didn’t work at all.
-
Results
We started getting the first significant results during the second month of our cooperation. We generated 255 sales for $9,703 with $3,190 ad spend. In the highest-performing month, we got 540 sales for $21,900 with $4,216 ad spend.
